    Jules Massenet’s opera is inspired by this historical fact.
    Excerpts from this work alternate with dramatic scenes inspired by the Bible,
    and a choreography on Salomé, by Richard Strauss.

    The lyrical version is performed by Ariel Daunizeau, Berthe Monmart and Bernard Muracciole.
    The dramatic version, written by Jean Jacques Varoujean, is performed by Claude Nollier, Jacques Jacquemin, Jean-Marie Fertey, Louis Arbessier and Claire Motte.
    The ballet version, choreographed by Michel Rayne, is performed by Claire Motte
