ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE

A concert/conference dedicated to the tenor voice, starring Danilo Formaggia accompanied on the piano by Catia Capua and conducted by Paolo Patrizi.

Who is the tenor? The non-grave male voice that usually acts as the hero or male protagonist of an opera. But why has the attention of the public and composers been drawn to this “unnatural” voice? Why has the more virile baritone often remained limited to the role of antagonist? And again: how many types of tenors exist? The evening will try to answer these and other questions, outlining a sort of geography of tenor singing.

W. A. Mozart, Idomeneo, “Fuor del mar”

Quando il tenore è un tenore comico: Nemorino
