ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
When she comes across a message on the Internet that a whale with 40 kilos of plastic waste has died in the Philippines, Vanessa sets out to save the whales in the distant waters from a similar fate. In doing so, she not only encounters a number of obscure characters, but basically herself. She has a lot to go through in this encounter, but in the end she emerges matured from a difficult inner struggle amidst a deluge of images and dubious encounters. Strengthened and still undeterred, she moves towards her goal, which is nothing less than saving the planet.
The road opera by Ferry Janoska (music) and Peter Wagner (libretto and staging) VANESSA GOES TO THE WALEN is aimed at that part of society that has prepared the growing up people to see the world as it is today. Vanessa belongs to the generation that gave rise to Fridays For Future, that is, the global movement of young people who rightly worry about the fate of the world. In this respect, this road opera is also an offer for young people.
