ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
The “Grafenegg Summer Night Gala” has been ringing in the summer festival season since 2006 and, thanks to television broadcasts, is also a media advertisement for Grafenegg.
World-class soloists are announced again in 2023: while the cellist Gautier Capuçon has conquered the hearts of the Grafenegger audience several times, the soprano Asmik Grigorian is making her debut in the Wolkenturm.
The American Eric Cutler is one of the most sought-after dramatic tenors and is also singing at the Grafenegger Gala for the first time.
This time the program is consistently operatic and ranges from Carl Maria von Weber’s overture to “Euryanthe”, various arias and orchestral pieces by Wagner, Verdi, Dvorák and Puccini to Massenet and Leoncavallo. Gautier Capuçon chose parts of Antonín Dvorák’s famous cello concerto and an arrangement from Sergei Prokofiev’s ballet “Romeo and Juliet” for his performance.
The musical summer fairy tale will be conducted by the chief conductor of the Tonkunstler Orchestra, Yutaka Sado. The ORF culture moderator Teresa Vogl accompanies you through the evening.
