ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
«Semiramide» is an opera in two acts. The libretto is by Gaetano Rossi. It is based on Voltaire’s tragedy Semiramis, which in turn goes back to the legend of Semiramis of Babylon. The opera had its premiere in the opera house “La Fenice” in Venice on February 3, 1823 and became one of his most performed works in the 19th century.
With the coro opera viva, consisting of singers from the entire Graubünden region, the internationally active soloists and the philharmonia opera viva from Hungary, the work was performed under the direction of Gion Gieri Tuor. In front of the stage design by our painter Rudolf Mirer, Rossini’s opera became a very special operatic experience.
