Włodzimierz Kazimierz Korcz (born November 13, 1943 in Łódź ) – Polish composer, pianist, arranger, conductor, hit maker. He composes and arranges songs, among others: in the style of sung poetry and children’s music , but also composes theater and film music. He forms an artistic duo with Alicja Majewska .
He graduated from the State Higher School of Music in Łódź and was a student of Zbigniew Szymonowicz. In the years 1968–1970 he was the music editor of Polish Radio in Łódź . In the years 1974–1977 he was the music director of the Targówek Theater .
He was the musical director of cyclical television shows, including: directed by Krzysztof Jaślar, Masurian Cabaret Feasts and Lidzbark Evenings of Humor and Satire .
He received awards at song festivals in Opole , Rostock , Vitebsk and Bratislava . He cooperated with many cabarets, including: Pod Egidą , Tey , Olga Lipińska , the television Polish Zoo , Kraj się się . He wrote children’s songs and musicals for the scout band Gawęda (with lyrics by Wanda Chotomska ). He collaborated with the Traugutt Philharmonic ensemble of opera soloists (performances: Let’s Sadźmy Róże and Songs of the Warsaw Uprising ).
He composed songs with words by Karol Wojtyła and the hymn O Mighty Jesus Christ (performed by Alicja Majewska ), as well as the Papal Song Stay with us (lyrics by Wojciech Kejne , performed by Dorota Osińska ). He is the creator of a Christmas carol concert (the album Kolędy w Teatru Stu – Halina Frąckowiak , Alicja Majewska, Andrzej Zaucha ), played continuously for over a dozen years, later with the participation of Zbigniew Wodecki . He travels around many European countries, the United States and Australia, most often with Alicja Majewska. After performing the oratorio “Woła Nas Pan” in Rzeszów in May 2005, he cooperates with the Strzyżowski Chamber Choir conducted by Grzegorz Oliwa. The choir accompanies the composer and (mainly) Alicja Majewska during concerts (“Idzie Kolęda, Polska Kolęda”, “Majewska – Korcz Okrągłe 31 Lat”).
In 2015, he was awarded the Silver Medal for Merit to Culture Gloria Artis .
