Palma’s Teatre Principal will host the Ópera XXI awards ceremony, which this year will be in its fifth edition. These awards recognize up to 10 categories: best female, male and young singer; best musical direction, best stage direction; best lyrical repertoire initiative; best new operatic production; best new Latin American production; best initiative to promote poetry and honor awards.
Ópera XXI is the association that brings together 27 theatres, festivals and stable seasons of opera from all over Spain, and which works to promote opera in society.
This year’s gala will be directed by Marta Pazos. The awards ceremony will be combined with performances by the Teatre Principal Choir, the Mallorca Chamber Orchestra and the soloists Mariola Cantarero and María Hinojosa.
