Opus infinitum : mirroring of works by Johann Sebastian Bach (extracts from cantatas and concertos) and Georg Friedrich Handel (extracts from Israel in Egypt; Messiah; Acis and Galatea; Dixit Dominus , etc.)

Leonardo García-Alarcón’s curious mind is constantly looking for new ways to explore the Baroque repertoire. Here he delivers a pastiche of works by two composers he admires equally: Bach and Handel. This dialogue/duel between two Baroque icons is illustrated through a patchwork program where excerpts from their most famous works mirror each other. The Argentinian conductor enjoys bringing together melodic themes here, texts there, and quite simply, finally bringing together two giants.
