In this scenic program, the twelve students of the Master’s degree course in Opera explore the countless variations of closeness and distance between people. How much physical contact can I allow — or not? What varieties of partner relationships are there in the field of tension between intense physical clinching and affection at a distance?
In several scenes from opera literature from Monteverdi to the 20th century, the singers of the opera class play out the numerous possibilities of such contact — tenderly, sensitively, fiercely and always honestly!
