Sarajevo was still under siege, exposed to grenades and sniper fire every day, when, on June 19, 1994, a concert of the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra was held in the ruins of the Sarajevo City Hall under the baton of maestro Zubin Mehta. Mozart’s ‘Requiem’ was performed, and the soloists who performed at the concert were: Jose Carerras, Ruggero Raimondi, Cecilia Gasdia and Ildiko Komlosi
