  One of Mozart’s most famous works is related to the composer’s tragically early death: he wrote the unfinished Requiem, commissioned by a client who kept his identity a secret, while seriously ill on his deathbed. The funeral mass, of which several different reconstructions are known, is one of his most played works today. On the other hand, many pieces in the Esterházy collection of the Széchényi Library have not been heard from for about 250 years. At the concert of the Purcell Choir and the Orfeo Orchestra, we will also hear some of these from the pen of Johann Georg Albrechtsberger, also known as Beethoven’s teacher, conducted by György Vashegyi.
