Made up of six singers and a basso continuo (organ and viola da gamba), the Athénaïs ensemble is dedicated to the repertoire of the small sacred motet, written for women’s voices in the 17th centuries.
United and complicit, the musicians of Athénaïs continue to highlight this repertoire, making it understandable, accessible, lively and moving for today’s listeners.
They have performed in particular at the Jean de la Fontaine, Marin Marais, Pontoise, La Chabotterie, la Réole and Froville festivals, and have also participated in conferences organized by the CNRS in Paris and Royaumont.
