The new staging of Lucia di Lammermoor arrives on stage which was supposed to inaugurate the 2020/2021 season bringing Donizetti back to December 7 after the historic 1967 edition directed by Claudio Abbado with Renata Scotto. The Musical Director presents his second Donizetti film at La Scala after Don Pasquale relying on the taste and experience of Yannis Kokkos, director, set and costume designer who had already designed two opening nights: Götterdämmerung and Iphigénie en Aulide. On stage in the part that belonged to Scotto, her pupil Lisette Oropesa who, together with Juan Diego Flórez, forms an ideal pair of protagonists for elegance, virtuosity and stylistic awareness, which has already entered the hearts of enthusiasts
