ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
After two pre-selection rounds and a semi-final, some of our participants will be nominated for the song recital. This involves two alternating categories. This year it was about songs from Germany and songs from Eastern Europe and the Baltic States.
Another special feature is a contemporary song composed especially for DEBUT 2024, for which our artistic director Clarry Bartha chose the Ukrainian composer Adrian Mocanu this time.
His composition …y mis tristes ojos ciegan, hechos río was performed by every participant in the semi-final. The winner of the prize for the best performance of a contemporary song will receive not only the prize but also a world premiere of the composition together with an orchestra at the DEBUT gala evening.
