The train journey that deports the very young Italian Jew Roberto Bachi from Milan to Auschwitz, told through the memory of Vittorio, one of the very few traveling companions to come back alive from the horror of the lager, and through the incessant searches of his mother Ines. The visions in which the boy takes refuge to survive are superimposed on the real level of the story, like the characters in Salgari’s books, the Jungle Book, memories of his father and school. A work about memory, but also a work of memories, musical and real. A true story that is also a universal story.
