The Austrian composer Joseph Umstatt spent some time at the princely court of Imre Esterházy in Bratislava. He was a well-known personality in his time. He mainly devoted himself to music for organ and harpsichord, but his mass cycles and operas were also performed.
Among the many masses, the most famous titles are Missa Natalitia and Missa pastoralis – both dedicated to the Advent and Christmas seasons. The charming Mass by Petrus Peťek , based on pastoral material, will certainly create an intoxicating Christmas atmosphere.
