ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
On the occasion of the 25th stage anniversary, a gala in honor of Plácido Domingo took place in the Vienna State Opera on 17th May 1992. By and with Marcel Prawy, who led through the evening. The ORF broadcast the event live, in which Udo Jürgens, soprano Mara Zampieri and baritone Piero Cappuccilli also took part. Singing excerpts from Giacomo Puccini’s “Fanciulla del West”, Ruggero Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci to Wagner’s “Lohengrin” are presented. The audience ended the evening with thunderous applause and standing ovations. Placido Domingo’s wife Mrs. Domingo, Marta Ornelas also presented together on this special occasion.
