ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
No slot available at the Frankfurt Opera? Then the party starts in the New Theater Höchst: a first, slightly shortened, concert performance of the opera “Frittenmoni”. Psychiatry is everywhere, not just in the psychiatric department of the Höchst clinic. But that’s where Andreas August Scheufler got his inspiration for his “Frittenmoni”. He worked there as a nurse Andreas for 20 years and asked himself more than once who was crazy here and who wasn’t. This is also the theme in the play, in which nurse Raimund falls in love with the patient Melusine, gives up his professional existence for her and, of course, everything ends tragically. Scheufler studied art and music, is on the road as a singer with the Frankfurt City Bluesband, among other things, and has now written a 300-page score. It will be performed by 10 classical musicians from the Kammerphilharmonie Frankfurt (director Nicolai Bernstein), 4 singers and a choir. Sometimes it sounds like “The Threepenny Opera”, other times it languishes like in Strauss’ “Rosenkavalier”.
