Faust, often considered the most important work of German literature, is performed in three versions: theatrical, lyrical, and dance. Jean Le Poulain, accompanied by Henri Virlojeux and Jacques Balutin, makes the link between the extracts.

Goethe’s Faust is played by Jean-Marie Fertey and Paloma Matta.
Faust by Charles Gounod is performed by Albert Lance, Denise Monteil and Xavier Depraz.
Finally, Faust is evoked by a choreography by Michel Rayne, to music by Franz Liszt, with Jean-Pierre Bonnefous and Luis Diaz.
