ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
This film is about the work of the outstanding Russian singer Evgeny Nesterenko, who had a magnificent voice and amazing artistry. All over the world, Nesterenko was called the most outstanding bass in the world, “the second Chaliapin,” “the voice of the century.” The main thing in his life was opera. On the stage of the Bolshoi Theater and world opera stages, he created many magnificent roles – these are Prince Igor, Konchak, Boris Godunov, Mephistopheles, Ruslan, King Philip, Don Basilio, Aleko… Evgeniy Nesterenko’s advantages are happily complemented by excellent external data: tall height, stately posture, a beautiful face that lends itself well to makeup, and, of course, great stage presence.
The program includes arias from operas and romances by M. Glinka, G. Sviridov, D. Verdi, D. Rossini, A. Boito, M. Mussorgsky, C. Gounod, A. Borodin, J. S. Bach.
