The iconic work “Epitaph” (1958) by Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis and poet Yannis Ritsos is considered a milestone in Greek discography. This new version was presented in 2021 for the first time, broadcasted on television by ERT and the Greek National Opera, at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre. The work has been specially arranged for the Greek National Opera by Yiannis Belonis, Dr of Musicology, a collaborator of the composer for many years. The eight songs og the initial work were rearr Lisa Xanthopoulou is the musical director, while a nine-member instrumental ensemble and the Chórés vocal ensemble under the artistic direction of Marina Satti are participating.
