In the introductory matinee for the revival of Hans Pfitzner’s “Palestrina”, State Opera Director Bogdan Roščić will shed light on the work and the composer. In conversation with conductor Christian Thielemann, Michael Spyres, Günther Groissböck, philosopher Konrad Paul Liessmann and the stage director of the revival, Wolfgang Schilly, various aspects of the work will be addressed, and musical numbers – songs by Hans Pfitzner, an excerpt from Wagner’s Lohengrin, but also compositions by Palestrina – will round off the morning.
