These few moments of the splendid Kûnneke operetta look like another german crime. If I were an heir of the Kûnneke heirtage I would ask my lawyers not to allow these performances. To stop being offered to the audience … oh yes, yes, I know, people applaud … The germans do know how to hypnotize people – history says so. I am happy to enjoy my audio recordings of this masterpiece, thanks to the radio of several years ago.
