Children need fairy tales! Just like adults. Especially when it comes to fear, the fear of death.
August Scheufler took on the topic and adapted such a fairy tale. Loosely based on the Spanish “La Tia Miseria”, Ms. Elend outwits Death, who then can no longer get down from a pear tree and can no longer do his well-known and feared work. Nobody dies anymore.
Great! And now?
One day the people in the village want Mrs. Misery to free Death from his tree…
The music sounds weird, sweet, smug – in keeping with the scenery. Performed in concert by six vocal soloists, the Kammerphilharmonie Frankfurt and a choir (as in the Scheufler opera “Frittenmoni” two years ago).
