The contemporary opera “At Jacob’s Well” is a project unconditionally committed to peace. Sensual moving as well as politically enlightening, it has the methodological goal of creating a symbol that is able to unfold its own positive effect in people’s hearts. The dramaturgy follows the centuries-old tradition of Japanese Noh theatre, which integrates spiritual, shamanistic and psychotherapeutic aspects. The libretto for the opera is based on a Noh play by Diethard Leopold, which was first shown in September 2019 at the ODEON Theater in Vienna. www.vereindernohopern.com
