ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
In this version of Mozart’s The Magic Flute in Corsican and French, with a minimalist aesthetic supported by a tight orchestra of 12 instrumentalists on stage, 16 soloists and 20 backing singers, the singers move among the musicians and the audience.
Through an acoustic approach playing on reverberations and distances, the sound of voices reveals the real space of the place.
Inspired by the colorful environments of James Turrell, a glass ring, changing color imperceptibly like a landscape in the light of dawn, and a solar and stylized referee’s chair, are the only setting for the internal fight that takes place there .
In an abundance of contrasts and revelations, supported by lively or slow-motion bodies and choreographed relationships, the song sometimes reaches us without reference points, emanating from the darkness.
It is about making us feel the universal mystery of beings, when they grow up and become women or men, while searching for meaning in the World and their existence.
