ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
The musical content is an instrumental suite from Lully’s ballet comedies called Le Divertissement Royal, and the two most important cantatas from the famous Grand motets — Exaudiat Te Dominus and especially Te Deum. The composition of the orchestra corresponds to the original arrangement of Lully’s historical ensemble “24 Violons Du Roy”, in which the numerous instruments of the basso continuo play a crucial role.
The vocal rate is also specific, which is based on the male treble “Haute Contre”, which in its type represents a transition between a natural tenor and a countertenor. For this project, it was possible to establish cooperation with the important soloist of the French ensemble Le Poeme Harmonique Jean-Francois Lombard.
