The cheerful, sparkling creativity of Rossini marked the heyday of Italian opera art. The Barber of Seville, The Thieving Magpie, Tancred, The Italian Woman in Algeria and William Tell brought the composer European success. The melodic richness and sparkling wit ensured the works immense popularity.

The culinary context is also appropriate – after all, the composer was glorified not only by his operatic masterpieces, but also by culinary ones. The author of the program, musicologist Vera Timofeeva, will tell the audience about the restless and cheerful Rossini.

The audience will be treated exclusively to vocal masterpieces – arias from the operas “The Barber of Seville”, “William Tell”, “Italian in Algiers”, “Cinderella” and a comic number “Cats”. They will be performed by soloists of the Philharmonic: Yulia Shinkevich, Ekaterina Klemens, Irina Makarova, Vyacheslav Klimenko and Yevgeny Steinmiller.
