ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
The story takes place in the revolutionary year of 1848 in the environment of Slovak potters in Záhorí. The young potter Floriš ( Ivan Krajíček ) comes to the village of Zelenice to work for the master potter Rafael ( Jaroslav Rozsíval ). However, he becomes entangled with the master’s daughter Ilonka (Zuzana Maďarová), which, due to his poor background, hinders the master’s wife Serafína ( Gizela Veclová ). In addition, Rafael’s maid Anička ( Jana Nagyová ) falls in love with Petr ( Emil Horváth ), a supporter of the Štúrov movement, who is the son of the rival master potter Gašpar Chytil ( Vlado Müller ).
Operetta Hrnčiarsky Bálit premiered on the stage of the Košice State Theater in 1956 and was later performed in almost all Slovak theaters and abroad. Today, this work belongs to the golden fund of Slovak operetta creation.
