Awesome. No weak singers. Loved C. Nilsson and Behle. Also excellent Ortrud and Friedrich. The king and herald are good. I like the scene where Elsa is sitting and sewing like the woman in a Van Gogh painting. The sound is very good at 256 kbps. Behle is one to follow. Hopefully his voice will continue to develop and not lose its radiance. No subs unfortunately but the music is so beautiful it is not a concern.
The camera work was not not the best but it was okay with plenty of closeups.
This is immediately one of my favorite Lohengrins.
I guess we will never see opera videos without the compressed sound that amps up in the quieter parts.
The tenor , who is also composer, is now 48, here 45, as born in 1974. But in fact his voice is still developing, biographies say he a few years ago had a lighter repertory, es. Mozart. The soprano, born 1990 is here 29. She has a challenging glorious name! Birgit Nilsson of course, but there was also a Christina Nilsson (1843-1921) who had a distinguished international career performing in many Italian and French operas (first Ophelia in Thomas’s Hamlet). Any relation?
