ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
The fundamental laws of human stupidity is the new work commissioned by the LXXXII Festival of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino to Vittorio Montalti. Inspired by the text of the same name by Carlo M. Cipolla, the work is the result of a project which required an active artistic sharing between composer, librettist and director in order to create an abstract work which prodigiously evoked in the spectators the concrete universe of stupidity. The tragicomic effects of this domination have been there for all to see since the foundation of the world, and with them the social, economic and cultural drifts of a humanity that has always underestimated the harmful potential of the foolishness and superficiality of its fellow humans.
