ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE

Turgay Erdener (b. June 15, 1957, Gümüşhane ) is a Turkish composer and academician.

He is the most prominent representative of the last generation composers. In 1968, he entered the Piano Department of Ankara State Conservatory and started his education in Kamuran Gündemir ‘s piano and İlhan Baran ‘s solfege classes. Later, after completing his education by studying with Erçivan Saydam and Nevit Kodallı in the Composition department of Ankara State Conservatory, he started working as a lecturer in the same department.

Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory, Department of Composition and Orchestral Conducting, Asst. He served as Head of the Composition Art Department with the title of Associate Professor. He later resigned from management. [1] He continues to work as a teacher in the department. Erdener is married to soprano Selva Erdener , one of the soloists of the Ankara State Opera and Ballet Directorate .

Although he seems open to almost all composition techniques, he benefits from a palette of original techniques created with his own understanding. Therefore, instead of being a composer of a certain style or movement, he turned to creating an original language. Judging by the works he produces in instrumental music or stage music, he does not stay away from new musical techniques while considering vocalization and staging permissions, and with this approach he tries to overcome the dilemma that composers in Turkey generally experience.
