The event intends to pay homage to the centenary of the composer’s death,
through the analysis of his very particular, profound relationship with the female world. It is difficult to think of a more beautiful gift for the female voice than Puccini’s melodies and the great female stage figures and personalities that we find in his works.
From Puccini’s works there does not emerge a type, but an entire universe connected to women. The Puccinian woman is the total, true representation of that universe which is music: disappointed, frustrated women, forced by
arranged marriages, jealous or in love make Puccini’s works profoundly contemporary.
