ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
In the first part of the evening, “Bastiano e Bastiana” will be performed, an opera composed by Mozart at the age of twelve, a small jewel in one act that deals with the love between two young shepherd children whose innocence risks being corrupted by temptations worldly. The intervention of a self-styled magician will restore harmony between the two lovers. Subsequently you will be able to listen to Salieri’s “Arlecchinata”, a funny intermezzo intended to be inserted between two acts of a serious opera. It is a bubbly carnival joke whose characters are taken, as he used for this type of compositions, from commedia dell’arte.
The performers of the two works will be the soprano Federica Repetto, the tenor Luca Santoro, the bass Giulio Ceccarelli and the pianist Massimo de Stefano.
The peculiarity of this staging lies in the presence of the three mimes Maurizio Nervi, Valentina Pellitteri and Andrea Grandi of the ETRA Association who will give life to the scenic action, enriching the music with the art of gesture, all under the wise artistic guidance of the M° Silvano Santagata.
