ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE

From 14 to 21 August 2021, the XIII Elena Obraztsova International Competition of Young Opera Singers will be held in the State Capella of St. Petersburg. Jury: People’s Artist of Russia Olga Borodina (Russia), People’s Artist of the USSR Makvala Kasrashvili (Russia), People’s Artist of Russia Larisa Gergieva (Russia), People’s Artist of the RSFSR Sergei Leiferkus (Russia, Great Britain), opera singer and teacher Marina Meshcheryakova (Russia, Austria ), head of the international project “Opera for Peace” Julia Lagahusere (France), head of the art agency “Ariosi Management” Alessandro Ariosi (Italy), head of the agency “Gerstel International Opera Management” Teddy Gerstel (Switzerland). In the first round (August 14-17), the contestants will perform arias from an opera, cantata or oratorio, accompanied by piano, in the second round (August 18-19), two chamber vocal compositions by Russian and foreign authors and an opera aria by an Italian composer. The final round (21 August) will present interpretations of two opera arias. The competition will end with an award ceremony.
