  Welt-Ende – Gericht – Neue Welt Op. 212, is an oratorio by the composer Joseph Joachim Raff based on words from Holy Scripture, especially the Book of Revelation. In English, it bears the short title The World’s End in addition to the literal translation .

  The work is scored according to a standard instrumentation of its time, with three flutes , two oboes , two clarinets , two bassoons , four horns , two trumpets , three trombones , tuba , timpani , triangle , snare drum, bass drum , and strings . For the vocal parts, there is a mezzo-soprano , a baritone , and a chorus . Müller-Reuter recommends, however, two pairs of timpani: “Two timpani are not enough; it is best to use two pairs, which, however, can be played by one musician.” The organ part of the first performances is not included in the printed score, and it is unclear who composed it.
