ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
In the first part, the Novosibirsk Camerata and well-known actors from drama theaters will present a musical and literary performance in which Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings will be performed in combination with poems by Russian poets.
The second part of the concert is a premiere performance of modern vocal and symphonic music with the participation of the Novosibirsk Choir. The musical and poetic picture, addressed to the work of the Novosibirsk front-line poet Boris Bogatkov, was created by our fellow countryman, the young composer Alexei Chernakov, whose works are increasingly being heard and enjoyed success in the concert halls of the country. The premiere in Novosibirsk is adorned with the star names of the capital’s performers: Yuri Afonki n (viola) and Vasilisa Berzhanskaya (mezzo-soprano) take part in the project.
Alexey CHERNAKOV was born in 1988 in Novosibirsk. Has been involved in music since the age of four. Graduated with honors from the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music in jazz piano and the composition department of the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky. Alexei Chernakov’s graduation work (one-act opera The Prophetic Dream) won the competition for the 150th anniversary of the Moscow Conservatory. Laureate of all-Russian and international competitions, laureate of the Triumph Youth Prize, since 2017 she has been teaching at the Composition Department of the Moscow Conservatory.
