ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
“Jangar’s Lion” is inspired by the story of Jangar, the heroic epic poem of the Mongols. Jangar, the king of Bomba, longs for the life of a common man, and in order to curb the growth of his own desires, he irresponsibly hands Bomba over to his own lion, Honggur, and leaves. The Dark Lord, who had heard of the invasion, imprisoned Honggur at the bottom of the Red Sea. Honggur’s agonizing cries reached Jangar. Jangar regretted his decision at that time and went to the bottom of the Red Sea to save Honggur, defeating the Dark Lord with the united power of Honggur and defending Bomba’s homeland.
