That should be the CBC; not CBS. The CBC (known by its many detractors as the Canadian Broadcorping Castration) is a Canadian TV and Radio network. CBS is an American commercial network that would have had as much interest in 1967 in airing a 60-minute black-and-white programme about three Canadian opera singers as it would today in airing a 60-minute analysis of the writings of Sophocles, Plato, Homer. etc.
