Bounded by the State Opera, Humboldt University and Hotel de Rome, along with the Unter den Linden boulevard – there is hardly a place in Berlin that is more central in terms of space and culture than Bebelplatz. For more than a decade, the Staatskapelle and Daniel Barenboim have been playing a symphony concert here, with free admission and in the open air for all Berliners and the city’s guests, as they did in 2017, a few days before the opera house reopened.
