  • ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE

American soprano and two-time Grammy Award winner Angel Blue presents a vibrant cross-section of her repertoire, from Marguerite in Gounod’s “Faust” and the title role in Puccini’s “Tosca” to a sumptuous foray into the world of musicals with Eliza’s song from “My Fair Lady.”

Bogdan Volkov is one of the most sought-after lyric tenors of his generation. Last year, Opernwelt magazine named him “Singer of the Year,” and he is currently enjoying great success at the Vienna State Opera as Lensky in Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin.” He will reprise this role at the Summer Night Gala, performing, among other pieces, “Un’aura amorosa” from Mozart’s “Così fan tutte” and Leoncavallo’s famous “Mattinata.”

The Salzburg cellist Julia Hagen is already very familiar with the unique ambiance of the Grafenegg Cloud Tower. At the Summer Night Gala, she will bring “the Swan” from Camille Saint-Saëns’ “Carnival of the Animals” to life with her cello. The program also includes a true virtuoso piece for cello and orchestra, with its majestic tones and rapid passages: Tchaikovsky’s “Pezzo Capriccioso.” The concert will culminate—as has become a cherished tradition—with Edward Elgar’s “Pomp and Circumstance.”
