ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
If the shadow of Edgar Poe hangs over André Caplet’s Fantastic Tale, the entire imagination of The Thousand and One Nights ignites under the impetus of the two wizards of the orchestra, Maurice Ravel and Nikolaï Rimsky-Korsakov : mirrored, their Scheherazades, separated by around fifteen years, confront and respond to each other, with the complicity of the soprano Fatma Saïd and under the authority of a flamboyant Wagnerian, the Finn Pietari Inkinen.
