Seongjeong Music Competition
The Seongjeong Cultural Foundation, which started the history of the cultural delegation by founding the Nanpa Boys and Girls Choir in 1981, held the Seongjeong Music Competition to help young musicians achieve their dreams of entering the world stage. It was held in 1992 and is now in its 33rd year. Not only has it firmly continued its history and tradition, but in 2021, it received the highest grade in the evaluation of the performance arts competition conducted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the transparency of the competition, establishing it as a competition representing the domestic music industry. Past winners include cellist Moon Tae-guk, who won the 15th Youngest Grand Prize; baritone Kim Ki-hoon, who won the 24th Seongjeong Music Award; baritone Kim Ji-hoon, who won the 29th Seongjeong Grand Prize and Seongjeong Music Award; and pianist Jeong Ji-won, who won the 32nd Seongjeong Grand Prize.
