    • He meets Salomè, a vibrant scugnizza, and her friend Totò, a street youth who loves her.
    • Toby is instantly charmed by Salomè’s wild, free-spirited nature and Neapolitan songs.
    • Kitty, meanwhile, finds herself falling for Totò despite their vastly different backgrounds.
Act II: The Proposition at the Villa
    • Toby invites Salomè and Totò to his luxurious villa in Posillipo to learn more about them.
    • Fascinated by her authenticity, Toby decides he wants to marry Salomè and take her to America.
    • Salomè is dazzled by the wealth but feels trapped by the formal etiquette of high society.
    • Totò and Kitty realize they must separate due to social pressures, leaving everyone conflicted.
    Act III: The Choice
