Zurich is a birthplace of Richard Wagner’s The Ring of the Nibelung. It was here that the German composer – as a revolutionary in exile wanted by warrants – developed the ideas for his opera cycle, drafted the draft of the drama and put large parts of the composition to paper. For this reason alone, the city is particularly close to the giant work, which encompasses four evenings and 16 hours of music, which has captivated opera enthusiasts to this day and which has had a lasting impact on high and pop culture.
Now Andreas Homoki and Gianandrea Noseda are developing a new ring for Zurich.
