ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
The opening concert of the 7th Kromer Festival Biecz is a repeat performance by countertenor Filippo Mineccia and the Arte dei Suonatori orchestra. After the pre-premiere program quasi – Passione presented last year, in 2021 the artists brought to Biecz a full program of the concert built around one text – the famous, poetic and extremely popular in the past centuries Passion of Christ by one of the greatest librettists of the eighteenth century, Pietro Metastasio. The idea behind the repertoire reveals the evolution of music over more than eight decades, from 1730 with Antonio Caldara’s Passione di Ges Cristo written in Vienna, to 1812 with Francesco Morlacchi’s Dresden Passion.
PROGRAM:
Antonio Caldara – Introduzione
Antonio Caldara – recitativo & aria (Pietro): Giacchè mi tremi in seno
