Prima della Prima Episodes on OperaonVideo
*Prima della prima* is an Italian television program dedicated to opera that aired weekly on Rai 3 from 2009 to 2015 (late Thursday nights around 1:30 AM) and on Rai 5 (Saturdays at 10:45 PM).
Produced by Rosaria Bronzetti, the program—which previously appeared in afternoon schedules during the 1990s under titles such as “L’amore è un dardo” and “Figaro qua, Figaro là” before adopting its current name—documents the behind-the-scenes aspects of major opera productions staged in Italian theaters. It focuses particularly on orchestra rehearsals, set design workshops, and costume department operations. The show also features interviews with performers, conductors, directors, and all those involved in the production of the opera.
