ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
Quote from kultur.net:
The chamber opera premiere ironizes the rituals, oddities and clichés of the microcosm of opera, but never forgets that all the passions, fears and occasional catastrophes are absolutely existential for those people to whom opera means the whole world. Director Rainer Vierlinger and dramaturge Anton Maria Aigner wrote the play especially for “Hell”; Tristan Schulze was commissioned to compose it.

The foyer in the Theater an der Wien, the “Hell”. While a premiere is taking place upstairs in the hall, the actual drama of the evening takes place down here, where the director of the production fears for the success of his work. He hopes, he trembles, he suffers: an emotional roller coaster.
