ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
Radovan Gobec usually wrote the lyrics for his vocal or vocal-instrumental compositions himself, including for the operetta Planinska roža. He created it in 1937 in the Posavina village of Henina pod Lisco and dedicated it to his future wife Sonja Elschbacher, whom he married in June of the same year. The operetta was first performed by the drama group of the Ivan Cankar Culture and Arts Society on March 31, 1951 in Žalec, and it was premiered in Maribor four times: in 1952, 1963, 2019 and 2023.
The story of the operetta is seemingly simple, but it hides many twists and turns. Katja Silvana gave up film and manages a mountain hut on Srečný vrh, which is also visited by theatergoers, but they do not know that Silvana was once a film actress. In their theater, they are preparing the premiere of the operetta Planinska roža, which was written on the mountain. They ask Katja Silvana for the premiere performance. This causes great confusion, jealousies, resentments and lawsuits, but in the end everything is cleared up and ends in general satisfaction
