From March 9, 1969, the ZDF program was called “Peter Alexander presents specialties.”
In each of the 12 episodes (1969 – 1978), the presenter served up big names from the German pop music business (Roy Black, Freddy, Ivan Rebroff, Udo Jürgens, etc.),
from opera or operetta (Lucia Popp, Anneliese Rothenberger, Herrmann Prey, etc.),
and from the film and entertainment industry (Gunther Philipp, Rudi Carell, Vico Torriani, etc.).
Peter Alexander presented his latest songs each time. He performed sketches with his guests or sang pop medleys with lyrics specially revised for the show.
Peter Alexander achieved ratings with this show that no German entertainer after him could match again.
